आज प्रमोद कुमार तिवारी की कविताएँ. प्रमोद भाषा में बोली की छौंक के कवि हैं. उस गंवई संवेदना के जिसे हम आधुनिकता की होड़ में पीछे छोड़ आये हैं. शोकगीत की तरह लगती उनकी ये कविताएँ जीवन के अनेक छूटे हुए प्रसंगों की ओर ले जाती हैं, टूटे हुए सपनों की ओर. गहरी ऊष्मा से भरपूर कविताएँ- जानकी पुल.
1. सितुही भर समय
होते थे पहले कई-कई दिनों के एक दिन
माँ के बार-बार जगाने के बाद भी
बच ही जाता था, थोड़ा-सा सोने का समय
सूरज कन्यादान किए पिता की तरह
चहलकदमी करता हौले-हौले चढ़ता उपर।
चबेना ले भाग जाते बाहर
घंटों तालाब में उधम मचा,
बाल सुखा, लौटते जब चोरों की तरह
तो लाल आँखें और सिकुड़ी उंगलियाँ
निकाल ही लेतीं चुगली करने का समय।
कुछ किताबों के मुखपृष्ठ देख
फिर से निकल जाते खेलने के काम पर
गिल्ली डंडा, ओल्हा-पाती, कंचे, गद्दील
जाने क्या-क्या खेलने के बाद भी
कमबख्त बच ही जाता समय
मार खाने के लिए।
कितना इफरात होता था समय
कि गणित वाले गुरुजी की मीलों लंबी घंटी
कभी छोटी नहीं हुई।
अब सूरज किसी एक्सप्रेस ट्रेन की तरह
धड़धड़ाते हुए गुजर जाता है
माँ पुकारती रह जाती है प्रसाद लेकर
और हम भाग जाते हैं बस पकड़ने
काश गुल्लक में पैसों की जगह
जमा कर पाते कुछ खुदरा समय।
मुसीबत के समय निकाल
बगैर हाँफे चढ़ जाते बस पर।
स्कूल जाते गिल्ली डंडा पर हाथ आजमाने की तरह
आफिस जाते पूछ लेते मुन्नी से
उसकी गुडि़या की शादी की खबर
मेट्रो पकड़ने को बेतहाशा भागते दोस्त से कहते
अबे! ये ले दिया पाँच मिनट, चल अब चाय पीते हैं।
काश! सितुही भर समय निकाल
ले लेते एक नींद का झोंका
झोंके में होते सपने
सपने, जिन पर नहीं होता अधिकार
किसी और का।
2. डर
अजीब शब्द है डर
आज तक मेरे लिए अबूझ
बहुत डरता था मैं सांप, छिपकली और बिच्छु से
याद आता है- छिपकली पकड़ने को उत्सुक तीनवर्षीय भाई
और खाट पर चढ़कर काँपते हुए
उसे मेरा डांटना
अब नहीं डरता मैं जानवरों से
पर समझदार होना शायद
डर के नए विकल्प खोलना है
मेरे गाँव का अक्खड़ जवान भोलुआ
जिसने एक नामी गुंडे को धो डाला था
कल मरियल जमींदार के जूते खाता रहा
उसका बाप कह रहा था
समझ आ गई भोलुआ को
अब कोई डर नहीं।
बहुरूपिया है डर
डराते थे कभी
चेचक, कैंसर और प्लेग
आज मौत पर भारी बेरोजगारी
बहुत डर लगता है
रोजगार कालम निहारतीं सेवानिवृत्त पिता की आँखों से।
आज कुछ भी डरा सकता है
एक टीका, टोपी, दाढ़ी
यहाँ तक की सिर्फ एक रंग से भी
छूट सकता है पसीना
कभी सोचा भी न था
पर सच है मुझे डर लगता है
बेटी के सुन्दर चेहरे से
और हाँ! उसके गोरे रंग से भी।
किसी ने बताया डर से बचना चाहते हो
तो डराते रहो दूसरों को।
पर मैने देखा एक डरानेवाले को
जिसने गोली मार दी
अपनी प्रेमिका को
डर के कारण।
कहते नहीं बनता
पर जब भी अकेले होता हूँ
बहुत डर लगता है खुद से
एक दिन मैं देख रहा था
अपना गला दबाकर
यह भी जाँचा था
कि मेरी उँगलियाँ आँखें फोड़ सकती हैं या नहीं
और उस दिन अपने हाथों पर से भरोसा
उठ गया ।
साजिश रचती हैं सांसें मेरे खिलाफ
लाख बचाने के बावजूद
पत्थर से टकरा जाते हैं पैर।
अब मैं किसी इमारत की छत पर या
पुल के किनारे नहीं जाता
मेरे भीतर बैठा कोई मुझे कूदने को कहता है
तब मैं जोर-जोर से कुछ भी गाने लगता हूँ
या किसी को भी पकड़ बतियाने लगता हूँ
पर सोचता हूँ क्या पता किसी दिन
कहने की बजाय वो धक्का ही दे दे
एक दिन मैने उससे पूछा
किससे डरते हो
मार से
भूख से
मौत से
किससे डरते हो
बहुत देर की खामोशी के बाद
आइ एक हल्की सी आवाज
मुझे बहुत डर लगता है
डर से!!!
3. इनार का विवाह
ढोलकी की थाप और गीतों की धुन पर
झूमती-गाती चली जा रही थीं औरतें
इनार की ओर
कि बस गंगा माँ पैठ जाएँ इनार में
जैसे समा गई थीं जटा के भीतर
धूम-धाम से हो रहा था विवाह
कि भूल कर भी नहीं पीना चाहिए
कुँआर इनार का पानी
विवाह से पहले
नये लकड़ी के बने ‘कलभुत’1 को 1. लकड़ी से बना इनार का दुल्हा
विधिवत लगाई गई हल्दी
पहनाया गया चकचक कोरा धोती,
और पल भर के लिए भी नहीं रूके गीत
गीत! विवाह के गीत
मटकोड़वा के गीत
चउकापुराई के गीत
गंगा माई के गीत
चली जा रही थी बारात
पर एक भी मर्द नहीं था बाराती
जल-जीवन बचाने की जंग का
ये पूरा मोरचा टिका था
सिर्फ जननी के कंधों पर
कि पाताल फोड़, बस चली आएं भगीरथी
जैसे उतर आती हैं कोख में
लकड़ी का ‘दुल्हा’ गोदी उठाए
आगे-आगे चली जा रही थीं श्यामल बुआ
मन ही मन कुछ बुदबुदाती
मानो जोड़ रही हों
दुनिया की सभी जलधाराओं का
आपस में नाभि-नाल।
चिर पुरातन चिर नवीन प्रकृति माँ से
मांगा जा रहा था वरदान
इनार की जनन शक्ति का
आदिम गीतों के अटूट स्वरों में
पूरे मन से हो रही थी प्रार्थना
कि कभी न चूके इनार का स्रोत
कभी न सूखे हमारे कंठ
हमेशा गीली रहे गौरैया की चोंच
माँ हरदम रहें मौजूद
आंखों की कोर से ईख की पोर तक में
दोनो हाथ जोड़े माताएँ टेर रहीं थीं गंगा माँ को
उनकी गीतों की गूंज टकरा रही थी
तमाम ग्रह-नक्षत्रों पर एक बूंद की तलाश में
जीवन खपा देने वाले वैज्ञानिकों की प्यास से,
गीतों की गूंज दम देती थी
सहारा के रेगिस्तान में ओस चाटते बच्चों को।
गूंज भरोसा दे रही थी
तीसरे विश्वयुद्ध से सहमे नागरिकों को।
गीत पैठती जा रही थी
दुनिया भर की गगरियों और मटकों में
जो टिके थे
औरतों के माथे और कमर पर
गीतों के सामने टिकने की
भरपूर कोशिश कर रही थी प्यास
पर अपनी बेटियों के दर्द में बंधी
गंगा माँ
हमारे तमाम गुनाहों को माफ करती
धीरे-धीरे समाती जा रही थीं
ईनार में।
4. हत्या और आत्महत्या के बीच
हत्या और आत्महत्या के बीच
कितनी चवन्नियों का फासला होता है?
क्या इन दोनों के बीच अँट सकता है
एक कमीज का कालर
या घिघियाहट से मुक्त आवाज।
कहीं ऐसा तो नहीं
कि सवाल ही गलत है
दोनों में कोई फर्क नहीं!
आखिर कितना फासला होता है
हत्या और आत्महत्या के बीच-
साहूकार की झिड़की का,
एक मौसम की बारिश का,
दूर देश बैठे किसी एमएनसीज मुखिया की मुस्कान का,
या फिर उन कीड़ों का
जिनपर चाहे जितनी दागो
सल्फास की गोलियाँ, वे पलट कर खुद को ही लगती हैं।
इस विकल्पहीन समय में
क्या हत्या और आत्म में से दोनों चुनने की बची है गुंजाइश?
आईपीएल के एक छक्के में कितने आत्म ख़रीदे जा सकते हैं
या कोकाकोला के एक विज्ञापन से
कितनी हत्याओं की दी जा सकती है सुपारी।
बहरहाल सवाल तो यह भी हो सकता है
कि सवाल चाहे स्कूल के हों या संसद के
उनके जवाब के लिए आत्म का होना जरूरी है, या न होना?
दोस्तों, इस बेमुरव्वत समय में
क्या तलाशी जा सकती है
थोड़ी सी ऐसी जमीन
जहाँ खड़ा हुआ जा सके
बिना शरमाए।
5. दीदी
दीदी मुझसे एक खेल खेलने को कहती
एक-एक कर
वह चींटों के पैर तोड़ती जाती
गौर से देखती उनके घिसट कर भागने को
और खुश होती।
मैने एक दिन देखा छुटकी की आँख बचाकर
दीदी ने उसकी गुडि़या की गर्दन मरोड़ दी।
पड़ोस की फुलमतिया कहती है
तेरी दीदी के सर पर चुड़ैल रहती है
कलुआ ने आधी रात को तड़बन्ना वाले मसान पर
उसे नंगा नाचते देखा था।
दादाजी ने जो जमीन उसके नाम लिखी थी
हर पूर्णमासी की रात, दीदी वहीं सोती है
तभी तो उसमें केवल काँटे उगते हैं
स्वांग खेलते समय दीदी अक्सर भूतनी बनती
झक सफेद साड़ी में कमर तक लंबे बाल फैला
वह हँसती जब मुर्दनी हँसी
तो औरतें बच्चों का मुँह दूसरी ओर कर देतीं।
माँ रोज एक बार कहती है
कलमुँही की गोराई तो देखो
जरूर पहले राक्षस योनी में थी-
मुई! जनमते ही माँ को खा गई
ससुराल पहुँचते ही भतार को चबा गई
अब हम सब को खाकर मरेगी
माँ रोज एक बार कहती है।
दीदी को दो काम बहुत पसंद हैं-
बिल्कुल अकेले रहना
और रोने का कोइ अवसर मिले
तो खूब रोना
अंजू बुआ की विदाई के समय
जब अचानक छाती पीट-पीट रोने लगी दीदी
तो सहम गई थीं अंजू बुआ भी।
पत्थर से चेहरे पर बड़ी-बड़ी आँखों से
दीदी जब एकटक देखती है मुझे
मैं छुपने के लिए जगह तलाशने लगता हूँ।
दीदी के साथ मैं कभी नहीं सोता
वह रात को रोती है,
एक अजीब घुटी हुई आवाज में।
जो सुनाई नहीं पड़ती बस शरीर हिलता है।
आधी रात को ही एक बार उसने
छोटे मामा को काट खाया था
और इतने जोर से रोयी थी
कि अचकचाकर बैठ गया था मैं।
दीदी मुझे बहुत प्यार करती है
गोद में उठा मिठाई खाने को देती है
उस समय मन ही मन हनुमान चालीसा पढ़ता रहता हूँ
और पहले मिठाई को जेब में
फिर चुपके से नाली में डाल आता हूँ।
दीदी मेरे सारे सवाल हल कर देती है
पर छुटकी बताती है-सवाल दीदी नहीं,
चुड़ैल हल करती है।
दीदी से सभी डरते हैं
बस! पटनावाली सुमनी को छोड़कर
सुमनी बताती है-
माँ ने ही अपनी सहेली के बीमार लड़के से
दीदी की शादी करायी थी!
सुमनी तो पागल है, बोलती है-
घिसट कर ही सही
किसी के संग भाग गई होती
तो दीदी ऐसी नहीं होती।

यह कविता का गंवईपन नहीं, जो प्रमोद कुमार तिवारी रच रहे हैं। गौण होते जीवन जीवन प्रसंगों, वह भी ग्राम्य, को फोकस में रखकर कविता का स्थापत्य खड़ा करना एक तरह से कविता के कुलीनतंत्र के खिलाफ खड़ा होना है। इस कुलीनतंत्र के बाहर बहुत माल-असबाब पड़ा है, जो हमसे छूटता जा रहा है या छोड़ा जा रहा है। वह भदेस उसी तरह हमसे छूटता या दूर होता जा रहा है जिससे सितुहे जितना समय पाने की लालसा घर करती है। अन्यत्र यही लालसा प्रकट हुई है – फुर्र से उड़ जाता समय (ठेलुआ)
स्वाभाविक है कि इस इरादतन उपक्रम से कविता का लालित्य, साहित्य का अभिजात समृद्ध होता है। आवारा पूंजी की केलिक्रीड़ा ने जिस आदमखोर बाजारवाद का मोहक ताना-बाना रचा, साहित्य का यह कुलीनतंत्र उसीसे उपकृत होने के लिए उसके आगे-पीछे लार टपकाता फिर रहा है। प्रमोद जी आपकी कविता का सारा ताना-बाना उस भदेसपन पर खड़ा है जिसके सामने हर तरह का संकट है। सिर्फ काव्यभाषा के लिए जो गांवों की ओर रुख करते हैं,कहीं न कहीं वे भी उस पूंजीवादी तंत्र के सम्मुख नतमस्तक करते हैं कविता को। हमें बेहद खुशी है कि आपके यहां समय का वह खूंखार अंतविर्रोध पूरे काव्य विवेक के साथ तार-तार हो रहा है।

कुलीनता का तकाजा था कि – कल मरियल जमींदार के जूते खा रहा था – जैसा नजारा नहीं आता। बहुत आसानी से एक फार्मूलाबद्ध आदर्शवाद की आभा खड़ी कर दी जाती – इंकलाब जिंदाबाद की शैली में। लेकिन बहुस्तरीय यथार्थ से जूझता – विकसित होता जीवनबोध ही यह काव्यसाहस अर्जित कर सकता है कि कुलीनतंत्र पूछे – बता तेरी (रजा) पॉलिटिक्स क्या है। आपकी कविता तनकर इसका जवाब दे सकने माद्दा रचेगी।
अब उत्तरसंरचनावादी खोजें कि विखंडन किसका हुआ। देरिदा के यहां विखंडन का दरस पानेवाले को निराला की कविता – लोहे का स्वाद- में विखंडन नहीं दीखा तो किसकी गलती। आप भी देखिए निराला के यहां विखंडन –

अक्षरों के बीच गिरे हुए आदमी को पढ़ो…
भाई गिरा हुआ आदमी आप किसको कहेंगे? पतित को ही ना, लेकिन यहां पर गिरा हुआ आदमी – पद दलित, दबा-कुचला है। हुआ ना अर्थ की एक पूरी परंपरा का विखंडन। अब आप आइए गिरे हुए आदमी को देखो नहीं पढ़ो कहते हैं निराला। यह पाश्चात्य काव्यशास्त्र से आया हुआ ट्रांसफर्ड एपिथेट है। तो प्रमोद जी लगे रहिए, कविता के अंतवादियों और उत्तरवादियों के लिए आप एक मुकम्मल जवाब होंगे। विमर्श का एक वातावरण तभी बनेगा जब आप इस रास्ते पर बढ़ते जाएंगे, बाजार में जानेवाले मोहक रास्तों की ओर नहीं जाएंगे। हमें भरोसा है कि सही रास्ता गलत ठिकानों पर नहीं जाता और गलत रास्ते कभी सही जगह नहीं जाते। फिलहाल तो इतना ही।
