पहले सोचा था ‘लप्रेक’ पर नहीं लिखूंगा. कहीं रवीश जी नाराज न हो जाएँ, कहीं निरुपम जी नाराज न हो जाएँ लेकिन प्रेमचंद याद आ गए- बिगाड़ की डर से ईमान की बात न कहोगे. क्या करूँ कहता हूँ खुद को रेणु की परम्परा का लेखक बात बात में याद प्रेमचंद आते हैं.
बहरहाल, बात लप्रेक की कर रहा था. ऊपर की पंक्तियों से ऐसा लग रहा है हो कि मैं कुछ लिखकर हिंदी में नए निकले कथा मुहावरे के मूल आइडिया की जड़ में मट्ठा डालने वाला हूँ. ऐसा नहीं है. कई बार प्रशंसा करते हुए भी डर लगता है. लेकिन इसका मतलब यह तो नहीं कि जो अच्छा लगे उसको अच्छा न कहा जाए. सच कहूँ जब शुरू में फेसबुक पर रवीश कुमार ने लप्रेक लिखा शुरू किया था तो मुझे भी संशय था. हिंदी वाला हूँ न हर नई चीज पर पहले संशय करने लगता हूँ. लेकिन उतना पक्का हिंदी वाला भी नहीं हूँ जब आइडिया पक जाए तो उसका विरोध शुरू कर दूँ. उसे बाजारू कहना शुरू कर दूँ.
अच्छा अच्छा मौका है बातें अच्छी अच्छी ही करूँगा. सबसे पहली बात तो यह कि पहली बार हिंदी के एक लेखक(अब रवीश कुमार ‘इश्क में शहर होना’ किताब के लेखक हैं इसलिए यहाँ उनको लेखक ही संबोधित करूँगा) ने एक ऐसे आइडिया को लेकर लगातार लिखा जो हिंदी के नए बनते हुए पाठकों को संबोधित है, एक बड़े प्रकाशक ने उस आइडिया को साकार रूप में देने में, उसके प्रचार प्रसार में ऊर्जा लगाई जो हिंदी के नए बनते पाठकों के लिए है. किताब की कीमत भी मात्र 80 रुपये.
यह बात बड़ी इसलिए है कि हम हिंदी में लेखन को, साहित्य को अब भी सामाजिक परिवर्तन का बड़ा माध्यम मानते हैं. अब भी मनोरंजन के लिए लेखन से नफरत करते हैं, उसे हिकारत से देखने के आदी हैं. जबकि चेतन भगत जैसा अंग्रेजी लेखक हमारे नए बनते हिंदी पाठकों को अपनी तरफ खींच रहा है और हैरानी की बात है कि हम इसे चुनौती भी नहीं मानते हैं. यह अकारण नहीं है कि चेतन भगत लगातार हिंदी को लेकर मुद्दे उठाता है, बहस छेड़ता है. एक ठेठ हिंदी के आइडिया को लेकर लेखक-प्रकाशक आगे आये हैं तो हमें उसका स्वागत करना चाहिए.
ज़माना बदल गया है. अब प्यार मोहब्बत एसएमएस, व्हाट्सएप, फेसबुक इनबॉक्स, ईमेल के माध्यम से संभव हो रहा है. हमारा जमाना नहीं रहा कि प्रेमपत्र लिखे जाते थे और ब्रेक अप के बाद हम राजेन्द्रनाथ रहबर की लिखी जगजीत सिंह की गाई फिल्म ‘अर्थ’ कि इस नज़्म की तरह सोचते थे- ‘तेरे ख़त आज मैं गंगा में बहा आया हूँ/ आग बहते हुए पानी में लगा आया हूँ…’ आज बद्रीनारायण की वह कविता पढता हूँ तो हँसी आती है जिसे एक जमाने में पढ़ पढ़ कर भावुक होता था- प्रेमपत्र. जिसमें कवि प्रेमपत्र को बचाने के लिए बेचैन है. आज तो एक मेल लिखिए, फेसबुक पर एक इनबॉक्स डालिए और चाहिए तो उसे अनंतकाल तक सुरक्षित रख सकते हैं, चाहें तो एक क्लिक से सब गायब.
कहने का मतलब है ‘लप्रेक’ आज के उन युवाओं को ध्यान में रखकर तैयार की गई श्रृंखला है जिनके बारे में न तो हिंदी के लेखक सोचते हैं न प्रकाशक. लेखक अगर सोचता भी हो तो प्रकाशक उदासीनता दिखाता है. लप्रेक की पहली किताब है ‘इश्क में शहर होना’, लेखक रवीश कुमार हैं. यह जरूर है कि किताब मैंने अभी प्री ऑर्डर में बुक ही की है. अभी पढ़ी नहीं है. लेकिन लप्रेक तो रवीश कुमार के और गिरीन्द्रनाथ झा, विनीत कुमार के लप्रेक भी पढता रहा हूँ. उसको पढ़कर यही समझ बनी कि यह हिंदी के एक बहुत बड़े गैप को भरने की दिशा में बड़ा कदम है.
पिछले महीने मैंने एक लेख में लिखा था कि 2015 में कोई न कोई किताब ऐसी जरूर होगी जिसकी बिक्री पारदर्शी तरीके से पांच अंकों के जादुई आंकड़े को छुएगी. जिस तरह से ‘इश्क में शहर होना’ की मार्केटिंग है, जैसी उसकी व्याप्ति दिखाई दे रही है उससे मुझे लगता है इस साल के अंत तक पटना पुस्तक मेले के आते आते यह आसानी से संभव हो सकता है. सिर्फ इसलिए नहीं कह रहा हूँ कि रवीश टीवी के बड़े सेलिब्रिटी हैं, बल्कि इसलिए कि उनक आइडिया हिंदी का है, जुमला हिंदी का है. ध्यान रखने की बात है कि प्रकाशन सिर्फ सेलिब्रिटी रविश कुमार को प्रोमोट नहीं कर रहा है बल्कि वह एक आइडिया को प्रोमोट कर रहा है जिसका लाभ निश्चित रूप से विनीत कुमार और गिरीन्द्रनाथ झा नामक लप्रेक के दूसरे लेखकों को भी होगा. यह पहली बार है. नहीं तो प्रकाशक लोग सेलिब्रिटी के नाम पर कुछ भी छाप कर बेचने में लगे रहते हैं. वे किताब नहीं सेलिब्रिटी बेचते हैं.
मैं कभी जयपुर लिटरेचर फेस्टिवल नहीं गया लेकिन मुझे यह याद नहीं आता है कि कभी वहां ठेठ हिंदी एक आइडिया को लेकर सत्र हुए हों, ठेठ हिंदी के आइडिया को लेकर किताब आई हो. मुझे उम्मीद ही नहीं पूरा भरोसा है कि इस बार हिंदी की सुगबुगाहट सरसराहट बन जाएगी. एक हिंदी प्रकाशक ने लिटरेचर फेस्टिवल में हिंदी के लिए मुकम्मल जगह बनाने के लिए पहलकदमी की है- एक ताली संपादक के लिए भी बनती है. कहते हैं कभी राजकमल प्रकाशन को ओमप्रकाश जी जैसे संपादक ने एक नया ‘कलर’ दिया था, आज फिर एक संपादक के आइडिया ने मजबूर कर दिया कि मैं उसके लिए फिलहाल अकेले ही ताली बजा लूं.
रवीश ने हिंदी भाषा को नई भंगिमा दी, अब नया मुहावरा दिया है. किताब तो जब चलेगी तब चलेगी फिलहाल ‘लप्रेक’ चल गया है. हिंदी के माथे से शर्म की भाषा की छाप हटे, नौजवान पीढ़ी हिंदी पढ़ते शर्माए नहीं इसके लिए ऐसी किताबों की जरुरत है जिसमें उसकी बोली-ठोली में उसकी बात हो.
हमारे लिए न सही हिंदी के भविष्य के लिए यह बेहतर संकेत है. अंत में, अज्ञेय का लिखा वाक्य याद आ रहा है, ‘शेखर: एक जीवनी’ में लिखा था. वाक्य एकदम ठीक से नहीं याद आ रहा है इसलिए उद्धृत नहीं कर रहा हूँ, लेकिन आशय यही था- हम दोनों बरसों से एक घर बनाते रहे यह जानते हुए भी कि हम उसमें नहीं रहेंगे, लेकिन इस बात से ही वह घर कम सुन्दर नहीं हो जाता कि हम उसमें नहीं रहेंगे. यहाँ ऊपर के वाक्य में हम दोनों की जगह हम हिंदी वाले करके इस वाक्य को पढ़िए. तब मायने और समझ में आएंगे.
हम रहें न रहें हिंदी रहेगी, उसको आगे ले जाने वाले आइडियाज रहेंगे. ‘लप्रेक’ रहेगा, ‘इश्क में शहर होना’ रहेगा.
आखिर में यही उम्मीद है कि अमेजन वाले सही समय पर ‘इश्क में शहर होना’ डेलिवर करेंगे तो इस टूटे पुल का बूढा चौकीदार किताब को पढ़कर कुछ और लिखे.
फिलहाल इसका दिल खोलकर, बाँहें फैलाकर इसका स्वागत करता हूँ.

पिछले 3 दिनों से मैं रवीश कुमार की लप्रेक 'इश्क में शहर होना' पढ़ रहा हूँ। ऐसा लगा जैसे किसी का कैमरा आॅटो मोड में खुला रह गया और बहुत सारे चित्र इकट्ठे हो गए। इश्क की महानगरीय व्याख्या है ये। हर लघुकथा की अंतिम पंक्ति में एक पंच है। यदि पूरी ईमानदारी से कहूँ तो आज के फेसबुक काल के पाठकों के लिए प्रयोग की दृष्टि से प्रेमकथा का यह रूप नया और अच्छा हो सकता है, किन्तु प्रेमकथा पढ़ कर जो सुगंध देर तक आपसे लिपटी रहती है उसका सर्वथा अभाव-सा लगा मुझे इसमें। आज जोधपुर शहर में इस पुस्तक पर विमर्श का आयोजन रखा गया है।
