निकाल देता हूँ हाशिये की ज़गह

लिखता चला जाता हूँ

कोई नहीं पढ़ता हाशिये का मौन
हाशिये के बाहर
फैले तमाम महान विचार
लोगों को खींच लेते हैं

लोग सरकारी दफ्त़रों में भकुआए हुए घूमते हैं
इस मेज़ से उस मेज़ पर दुरदुराये जाते हुए
लोग कोर्ट-कचहरियों में लूट लिये जाते हैं
धक्के खाते हैं
लोग भूखे रह जाते हैं
भविष्य के लिए थोड़ा सा अन्न बचाते हैं
लोग साधारण सुविधाओं के लिए तरस कर रह जाते हैं
एक तिहाई से भी अधिक बच्चे कुपोषण के शिकार हैं
बेरोजगारों की फौज़ रेलों में लटककर
देश भर में काम खोज़ती घूम रही है
लोग चंद हज़ार के कर्ज़े चुकाने में अपनी धरती से हाथ धो बैठते हैं
लोग खेत से लौटते हैं और फांसी लगा लेते हैं
ज़हर खा लेते हैं
लोग राजनीति पर थूकते हैं
तो विश्वविद्यालय में मलाई मार रहा एक अध्यापक कहता है
जनता अराजनीतिक हो गयी है
यह जनता के भविष्य के ़िखलाफ है
एक वामपंथी सरकारी अधिकारी कहता है
जनता में लुम्पेनगीरी बढ़ रही है
तरह-तरह के रंगों वाली सरकारों से अनुदान पाकर नाटक करने वाला
एक नटकिया कहता है कि ़खतरनाक है जनता की राजनीति से चिढ़
वह राजनीतिक पक्षधरता के विलुप्त हो जाने का राग अलापता है
अपनी बीवी को सड़क पर घसीटकर बाहर कर देने वाले एक क्रांतिकारी
अध्यापक को याद आती है रघुवीर सहाय की संदर्भ से भटकायी गयी पंक्तियाँ
‘‘एक मेरी मुश्किल है जनता
जिससे मुझे ऩफरत है
गहरी और निस्संग…’’
एक भगवाधारी कहता है- सब प्रभु की माया है
समाजवादी कहता है कि बगैर सोशल इंजीनियरिंग के नहीं टिक सकती राजनीति…

उसके घर जब आकर रहने लगे
दु:ख अभाव और उनकी सगी कलह
तो वह भागकर कमाने मुंबई चला गया
वहाँ से भगाया गया
धरती पुत्रों ने भगाया उसे
उसके बाद वह सूरत गया बंगाल गया
नेपाल गया
कई-कई शहरों में कई-कई बार गया
कहीं दोस्तों ने ही ठग लिया
कहीं उसके मालिकों ने मार लिया मेहनताना
और भगा दिया
कहीं बीमारी और मौत से लड़ते-लड़ते वह भागा
मारा-मारा फिरता रहा
एक अदद काम की तलाश में
पूरी जवानी की यही रही कहानी
एक दिन कबूतरबाजों के हत्थे चढ़ा
तो अपने हिस्से में मिली एक कोठरी भर की ज़मीन बेचकर
चला गया दूर अरब के देश में
वहाँ भी उसका मालिक
उठाता है उसकी मज़बूरी का ़फायदा
जब न तब बिना बात के काट लेता है पैसे
बोनस में अपमान का करता है भुगतान
अब वह जाये तो कहाँ जाये
अब वह लौटे तो किसके पास लौटे
किस ठिकाने पर लौटे
निगोड़ा घर भी बिक गया
जो होता तो लौटने का एक बहाना तो होता
अब वह उस देश में कैसे लौटे
जहाँ बिक गयी उसकी धरती
बिक गया आसमान…
कहने को मगर
वह अब भी एक देश का नागरिक है…

भारत माता के बेटे
यह भाई जो दिन-दिन भर
रोज़ रिक्शा चलाता है
दो-चार रुपये के लिए झिक-झिक झेलता है
बेवजह अपमान झेलता है मार खाता है
जिसके पेट में भूख हरदम अंतड़ियाँ चबाती रहती हैं
भारत इस भाई का भी तो है
यह भाई जो दिन भर ठेले खींचता है
और जिसके बच्चे मिठाई के लिए तरसते हैं
जिसके बच्चों के लिए नयी कमीज़ें दिवास्वप्न की तरह हैं
भारत इस भाई का भी तो है
यह भाई जो खेतों में
अपनी हड्डियाँ गलाता है
पसीने से सींचता है अन्न के दानों को
जिसके बच्चे दूध के लिए तरस कर रह जाते हैं
जिसकी बिन ब्याही बेटी पिता की दु:ख की पोटली लिए कुएं में कूद जाती है
भारत इस भाई का भी तो है
यह भाई जो फूटपाथ पर
जूते सिलता है
और जिसके पाँव बिवाइयों से पटे हैं
भारत इस भाई का भी तो है
यह भाई जिसका भाई
इलाज़ के अभाव में मर गया
और जो चंद रुपयों की दवाई खरीद न सका
जो अस्पतालों स्कूलों और कचहरियों में घुसते हुए डरता है
भारत इस भाई का भी तो है
यह भाई जिसके पिता
साहूकार से लिए चंद हज़ार रुपये की कर्ज़ न चुका पाये
और अपमान व ज़िंदगी की दिक्कतों से भागकर
गरदन में गमछा बाँधकर पेड़ से लटक गये
भारत इस भाई का भी तो है
यह भाई जिसके बेटे को
पुलिस ले गयी
आतंकवादी कहकर
जो दरअसल बेरोज़गारी-अभाव के आतंक से बौखलाया
मारा-मारा घूम रहा था
जिसके चेहरे पर हल्की दाढ़ी थी
