एक थे पहलवानजी। नई-नई शादी हुई थी। सुहागरात पर उन्होंने अपनी पत्नी से बड़े ही प्यार से पूछा- पंजा लड़ाएगी?
पूरा देश जब पाकिस्तान से अपने फौजियों की शहादत का हिसाब मांग रहा है तो हमारे प्रधानमंत्री कुछ वैसे ही पाकिस्तानियों (पाकिस्तान को नहीं) को चुनौती दे रहे हैं – आइए, गरीबी से लड़ाई लड़ते हैं। देखते हैं, गरीबी पहले कौन हटाता है आप या हम? आइए, बोरोजगारी से लड़ाई लड़ें और देखें, बेरोजगारी पहले आप दूर करते हैं या हम? आइए, अशिक्षा के खिलाफ लड़ाई लड़कर दिखाते हैं कि अशिक्षा पहले आप खत्म करते हैं कि हम? गनीमत है कि इस लड़ाई का संदर्भ उन्होंने गरीबी से लेकर बेकारी तक को ही बनाया, दुश्मन को क्रिकेट, कबड़्डी, खोखो या फिर रमी के लिए नहीं ललकारा। उनसे यह नहीं कहा कि आइए, ओक्का-बोक्का खेलते हैं, देखते हैं आप जीतते हैं कि हम? 56 इंच की छाती की दुहाई देनेवाले हमारे इस नेता ने न जाने क्यों आज अपना रंग बदल लिया है? एक के बदले दस सिर काट लाने की ललकार लगाने वाले हमारे नेता ने कुर्सी पर बैठते ही जाने क्यों अपना राग बदल लिया है? जिस मोदी के लिए हमने ‘मोदी-मोदी’ के नारे लगाए थे, वह निश्चय ही कोई और था।
जी हां, हमें गरीबी, बेकारी, अशिक्षा सबसे ही लड़ाई लड़नी है। बेशक लड़नी है, लेकिन इसके लिए हमें पाकिस्तान से उलझने की जरूरत नहीं है। यदि प्रधानमंत्रीजी ने ये चुनौतियां अपने ही देश के सभी प्रांतो के सामने रखी होतीं कि देखें गरीबी, भुखमरी, बेकारी और अशिक्षा के खिलाफ जंग में किस प्रदेश की जीत होती है तो उनके बीच एक स्वस्थ प्रतिद्वंद्विता पनपती और विकास की दिशा में इसका विशेष मायने होता, पर पाकिस्तान की आवाम को इनके लिए ललकारने से भला क्या सिद्ध होगा? जब पाकिस्तान हमारे घर में घुसकर हमारे सैनिकों को मार रहा हो, तब हम उसकी आवाम से गरीबी से लड़ने की प्रतिद्वंद्विता की बात करें, यह स्थितियों से मुंह चुराना है। यदि मोदी जी को दक्षिण एशियाई क्षेत्रीय विकास की इतनी ही चिन्ता है तो वह उस दिन भी झलकनी चाहिए थी, जब वह एक के बदले दस सिर काट लाने के वायदे कर रहे थे। दुश्मन को सबक सिखाने के लिए मनमोहन सरकार का पैमाना कुछ हो और मोदी सरकार कुछ और, ऐसा तो नहीं हो सकता। खेल के जो नियम खुद मोदीजी ने बनाए हैं, उनका पालन तो उन्हें करना ही पड़ेगा।
पाकिस्तान से लड़ाई के खतरों का भान हमें है। लेकिन क्या यह भान मोदी जी को नहीं था, जब वह देश को अपनी 56 इंच की छाती का भरोसा दे रहे थे? जी हां, हम युद्ध नहीं चाहते, विकास चाहते हैं, लेकिन दुश्मन जब हमें हमारे घर में घुसकर मार रहा हो तो क्या हम विकास के बारे में सोच भी सकते हैं? कभी-कभी विकास के लिए भी युद्ध आवश्यक हो रहता है। यदि ऐसा नहीं होता तो हमारी आस्था के प्राण भगवान श्रीकृष्ण मोहपाश में जकड़े अर्जुन को युद्ध के लिए तैयार न करते। यह कभी न कहते उससे कि उठो पार्थ, गांडीव संभालो। फिर भी हम लड़ाई नहीं चाहते। पाकिस्तान से तो क्या, किसी से भी नहीं चाहते और ना ही किसी और को लड़ाना चाहते हैं। भारत का यह चरित्र बिलकुल ही नहीं है। परन्तु हम यह भी नहीं चाहते कि कोई हमारा मान मर्दन करे। हम कदापि नहीं चाहते कि कोई हमारी संप्रभुता पर चोट करे। और यदि कोई ऐसा करता है तो हमें अधिकार है कि हम उसे उसका माकूल जवाब दे।
मुझे ही क्यों, पूरे देश को ही संतोष होता यदि मोदीजी ने कोझिकोड के उस मंच से पाकिस्तानी आवाम को संबोधित करने की बजाय पाकिस्तान के नेतृत्व को संबोधित किया होता कि हमें तो हाफिज सईद का सिर चाहिए। तुम्ही बताओ, तुम लाकर दोगे या हम खुद आकर लें? हमें ही क्यों, पूरी दुनिया को भी खुशी होती यदि हमारे प्रधानमंत्री ने पाकिस्तान के नेतृत्व को ललकारा होता कि यह तुम तय करो कि तुम्हारी सरजमीं पर चलनेवाले आतंकी शिविरों को तुम खुद खत्म करोगे या हम आकर करें? जी हां, हमें एक के बदले दस सिर नहीं चाहिए। हमें तो उरी में शहीद उन अठारह जबानों के सिरों के बदले सिर्फ एक सिर ही चाहिए – हाफिज सईद का। हमें पाकिस्तान पर हमला कर के किसी भी निर्दोष की जान नहीं लेनी है, हम तो सिर्फ और सिर्फ पाकिस्तान में चलाए जा रहे आतंकी शिविरों को नेस्तनाबूत देखना चाहते हैं। ऐसा करने की बजाय हमारे प्रधानमंत्री यदि भारत-पाक गरीबी उन्मूलन प्रतियोगिता कराएंगे तो स्वाभाविक तौर से हमें उस पहलवान की याद हो आएगी, जिसने समय, स्थान एवं संदर्भ का ख्याल किए बिना अपनी पत्नी से पूछा था – पंजा लड़ाएगी?
