कल महाकवि तुलसीदास की जयंती मनाई जा रही थी। प्रेम कुमार मणि का यह लेख कल पढ़ने को मिला। प्रमोद रंजन ने एक ग्रुप मेल में साझा किया था। आप भी पढ़िए। प्रेम कुमार मणि के लेखन का मैं पहले से ही क़ायल रहा हूँ और क़ायल हो गया-

कवि तुलसीदास का जन्म,जीवन,जन्मस्थान,वय और यहां तक कि उनकी जाति आज भी एक पहेली है. पहेली बने रहने के कुछ लाभ हैं. और ये लाभ उस निहित स्वार्थ वाले तबके को ही मिल सकते हैं, जो तुलसी और उनके साहित्य के मनमाने अर्थ सम्प्रेषित करता आ रहा है. तुलसी -विषयक वैज्ञानिक अध्ययन की जरुरत इसलिए भी है कि इस से भक्ति -काव्य विषयक अनेक भ्रांतियां ख़त्म हो सकती हैं. विमर्श और सोच के नए गवाक्ष खुल सकते हैं. इसलिए यह आवश्यक प्रतीत होता है कि इस विषय पर समुचित ध्यान दिया जाय.
भक्ति -आंदोलन के प्रथम महत्वपूर्ण कवि कबीर पर संतोषजनक कार्य हुए हैं,और निरंतर हो भी रहे हैं. अनेक विदेशी विद्वानों, जिन में यूरोपीय विद्वानों की संख्या अधिक है, ने कबीर पर उल्लेखनीय कार्य किये हैं. मेरी जानकारी के अनुसार तुलसीदास पर इस तरह से कार्य नहीं हुए हैं. इसका कारण यह भी है कि वैचारिक स्तर पर कबीर के सरोकार अधिक मानवीय और व्यापक हैं, और इस कारण उन्होंने पूरी दुनिया को प्रभावित किया है. यह हकीकत है कि भारत क्षेत्र से व्यक्ति रूप में बुद्ध के बाद सबसे अधिक कबीर ने पश्चिमी जगत को आकर्षित किया है. लेकिन इस लेख में मुझे तुलसीदास की चर्चा करनी है. विशेष कर उनके जीवन से जुड़े तथ्यों की, जिनमें प्रथमद्रष्टया गहरे अंतर्विरोध दिखते हैं. अंतर्विरोध कबीर विषयक अध्ययन में भी थे, लेकिन उसे पूर्णतः तो नहीं, लेकिन बहुत अंशों तक देशी -विदेशी शोधार्थियों ने स्पष्ट कर दिया है,सुलझा लिया है. जैसे कबीर के जीवन को लेकर अब किसी को भ्रम नहीं है कि वह एक सौ बीस साल जिए. नयी जानकारियों (लिंडा हेस और सुकदेव सिंह – बीजक ऑफ़ कबीर ,ऑक्सफ़ोर्ड यूनिवर्सिटी प्रेस ) के अनुसार उनका जीवन काल बहुत संक्षिप्त (जन्म 1398 ई. और मृत्यु 1448 ; यानी कुल पचास साल ) था. इसी तरह उनके जीवन के अन्य पहलुओं के विषय में अधिक शोध पूर्ण और विश्वसनीय जानकारी हमारे पास उपलब्ध है.
लेकिन तुलसीदास के जीवन को लेकर आज भी बहुत अस्पष्टता ,उधेड़ -बुन और अटकलबाजियां हैं. जैसे उनकी आयु को ही लीजिए. ऐसी मान्यता है कि वह एक सौ छब्बीस (126) वर्ष जीवित रहे. उन पर काम करने वाले अधिकांश विद्वानों ने इसे स्वीकार लिया है. इसके समर्थन में दलीलें भी दी गयी हैं. वे नहीं समझते इससे तुलसी को देवत्व तो मिल जाता है, लेकिन उनकी विश्वसनीयता कमजोर हो जाती है. तुलसी इस रूप में अभागे हैं कि उन्हें विद्वान शोधार्थी और आलोचक कम, भक्त अधिक मिले. भक्त अपने इष्ट में दैवी आभा आरोपित करते रहते हैं. भक्तों से बहस नहीं की जानी चाहिए; लेकिन किसी भी वैज्ञानिक-दृष्टि -संपन्न अध्येता को यह क्या अटपटा नहीं लगता? शायद ही आने वाली पीढ़ियां इन अनाप -शनाप और गड्ड -मड्ड ब्योरों पर यकीन करे. इसलिए मेरी समझ से यह जरुरी लगता है कि शीघ्रताशीघ्र इन बिंदुओं पर शोध और अध्ययन से एक विश्वसनीय स्थिति बनाई जाय. अन्यथा आने वाला समय हमें शायद मुआफ नहीं करेगा.
तुलसीदास के जटिल जीवन की निश्चय ही एक जटिल कहानी होगी. सामान्य रूप से जो प्रचलित मान्यता है उसके अनुसार उनका जन्म विक्रम सम्वत 1554 और मृत्यु विक्रम सम्वत 1680 में हुआ था. यह अवधि 126 वर्ष की है. उनका जन्मस्थान उत्तरप्रदेश के चित्रकूट जिले का राजापुर गाँव माना गया है. लेकिन एक अन्य मान्यता के अनुसार तुलसीदास का जन्मस्थान वर्तमान कासगंज के पास (जिला एटा ) का सोरों गाँव है, जिसे सूकरखेत या शूकरक्षेत्र भी कहा गया है. एक सोरों या शूकर क्षेत्र गोंडा जिले में भी है, और इसमें राजापुर गाँव भी अवस्थित है. इन सब के बीच यह तय करना मुश्किल है कि इनमें तुलसी का जन्म -ग्राम कौन -सा है. जन्म वर्ष के बारे में भी एक और मान्यता सम्वत 1511 -1623 की है. इसके अनुसार भी उनकी आयु 112 वर्ष बनती है. हाँ ,ग्रियर्सन का अनुमान अधिक विश्वसनीय है, जिसमे उनका जन्मवर्ष सम्वत 1589 माना गया है. मृत्यु सम्वत 1680 में हुई है, तो इसके अनुसार उनकी आयु 91 साल बनती है. मृत्यु -वर्ष तो नहीं, लेकिन मृत्यु -स्थल के बारे में सब एकमत हैं कि उनकी मृत्यु वाराणसी के अस्सी मोहल्ले में हुई.
तुलसीदास विषयक अध्ययन का पारम्परिक आधार नाभादास ( सम्वत 1583 -1639 ) विरचित भक्तमाल पुस्तक है, जिनमें तुलसीदास के सम्बन्ध में छह पंक्तियाँ हैं. सम्वत 1712 में किसी प्रियादास ने भक्तमाल की एक टीका लिखी – ‘भक्तिरासबोधिनी’. प्रियादास का समय तुलसीदास का समय नहीं है. लेकिन उन्होने नाभादास की छह पंक्तियों को बढ़ा कर ग्यारह कर दिया. पिछली सदी में 1920 ई. के इर्द -गिर्द दो किताबें और प्रकट हुईं. बेनीमाधवदास की एक किताब आयी -‘ मूल गोसाईं चरित ‘, जिसे सम्वत 1620 की रचना बतलाया गया.दूसरी किताब दसानी या भवानीदास लिखित ‘गोसाईं चरित ‘ है. इसी तरह 1950 ई. में एक किताब मिलती है -‘गौतम चन्द्रिका’ ,जिसके लेखक कृष्णदत्त मिश्र हैं , यह किताब सम्वत 1624 की लिखी बतलायी गयी. यह कहा गया कि लेखक कृष्णदत्त के पिता तुलसी दास के मित्र थे .
उपरोक्त तमाम पुस्तकों ने कोई नयी विश्वसनीय जानकारी नहीं दी, एक दूसरे का मौन समर्थन किया और साथ ही कुछ नए वितंडे खड़ा किये. इससे इन सब के बीच किसी कुटिल घालमेल का भी ख्याल बनता है. इन सब कारणों से तुलसीदास विषयक अध्ययन पर कोई नया निष्कर्ष नहीं आ सका. जो नया होता था, वह उनके बारे में अतिशय-उक्तियाँ होती थीं. कुल मिला कर उस कवि का जीवन अचरजों का एक ऐसा पिटारा बना दिया गया कि अविश्वसनीयता उसकी पहली पहचान हो गयी. राजापुर के एक गृहस्थ हुलसी -आत्माराम दुबे के घर सम्वत 1554 के श्रावण शुक्ल पक्ष की सातवीं तारीख, जो अभुक्तमूल नक्षत्र है, को एक पुत्र का जन्म होता है. तीन रोज बाद यानि दशमी को हुलसी, यानी उस नवजात की माँ अपनी दासी चुनिया को उस बच्चे को दे देती है कि वह इसे ले कर अपने मायके चली जाय. कथा बनती है कि बालक का जन्म बारहवें महीने में हुआ है . आम तौर पर मानव शिशुओं का जन्म नौ माह पूरा होने पर होता है. जन्म से रहस्य पर रहस्य. बच्चे के मुंह में जन्म से ही बत्तीसों दांत हैं. इतना ही नहीं जन्म लेते ही बच्चा रोता नहीं, राम का नाम लेता है. सचमुच इतना रहस्य और आश्चर्यों की आतिशबाज़ी तो उस राम के जन्म में भी नहीं हुई, जिसका ‘गुलाम ‘ तुलसी ने स्वयं को माना है. रहस्य का दायरा बढ़ता ही जा रहा है. बालक तुलसी, जो तब रामबोला था, साढ़े पांच साल का ही था तब अचानक धर्ममाता चुनिया का भी निधन हो जाता है. बालक रामबोला अब पूरी तरह अनाथ है. ऐसे में नरहर्यानंद इस बालक को मिलते हैं. वे उसे बनारस लाते हैं. रामबोला की शिक्षा -दीक्षा, यज्ञोपवीत, विवाह सब होता है. कब वह रामबोला से तुलसी बनते हैं, यह स्पष्ट नहीं होता. लेकिन ऐसा लगता है रामबोला नाम विद्यार्थी काल में ही तिरोहित हो गया था. एक नाटकीय घटना के साथ तुलसी का विवाह सम्बन्ध टूट जाता है. हताश-निराश तुलसी से हनुमान की मुलाकात होती है और उनकी प्रेरणा से वह चित्रकूट जाते है, जहाँ राम और लक्ष्मण ( आश्चर्य कि सीता नहीं ) से उनका दर्शन होता है. इस दर्शन से अभिभूत तुलसीदास सम्वत 1631 की राम नवमी के दिन से अपने मुख्य काव्य -ग्रंथ रामचरित मानस की रचना करने में जुट जाते हैं. यह रचना दो वर्ष सात महीने और छब्बीस दिनों में पूरी होती है.
स्मरणीय है इस रचना का आरम्भ तुलसीदास ने सतहत्तर वर्ष की वयोवृद्धता में किया था. क्या इस उम्र में इतना व्यवस्थित कार्य किया जा सकता है? फिर इस मानस को लेकर जो किंवदंतियां हैं, उनका अलग ब्यौरा है. यह क्या आश्चर्यजनक नहीं है कि हिंदी साहित्य के किसी भी विद्वान और अध्येता ने उनके जीवन के इन झाड़ -झंकारों से उन्हें मुक्त करने की कोशिश नहीं की!
सर्वाधिक विभ्रम उनकी जाति को लेकर है. सामान्य तौर पर यह स्वीकार लिया गया है कि वह सरयूपारी ब्राह्मण थे. उनके पिता का नाम आत्माराम दुबे और गाँव राजापुर बतलाया गया. हद तो यह है कि जन्म के तीसरे रोज ही माता उसे त्याग देती है. तुलसी ने स्वयं लिखा है -‘मातु -पिता जग जाए तज्यो, विधिहि न लिख्यो कछु भाल -भलाई’ . इतनी घनीभूत पीड़ा का बयान शायद ही किसी कवि ने किसी भी ज़माने में किया हो. आत्माराम -हुलसी का कोई अता -पता फिर कभी नहीं मिलता. एक साधु ने मुझे तुलसी की व्यथा का बयान किया था. उनके अनुसार तुलसी कभी अपने गाँव नहीं जाना चाहते थे. उक्त साधु ने तुलसी के नाम से दो पंक्तियाँ सुनाई थीं. मुझे यह तुलसी काव्य में कभी नहीं मिली. लेकिन फिर भी वह देखने लायक है.
तुलसी वहाँ न जाइये, जहाँ जनम का गाँव
गुण -अवगुण परखै नहीं,धरै पुरानो नाँव
( तुलसी कहते हैं, अपने जन्म गाँव में कभी नहीं जाना चाहिए . लोग गुण -अवगुण तो देखते नहीं, पुरानी पहचान का मज़ाक उड़ाते हैं.)
क्यों तुलसी अपने गाँव नहीं जाना चाहता? गाँव में उसकी कोई इज्जत नहीं है. न उसकी प्रतिष्ठित आर्थिक स्थिति है, न ही कुल -परिवार और न ही जाति. इनमें से किसी भी एक की उपस्थिति होती तो तुलसी क्या वहाँ अपमानित होता! तुलसी की ही तरह कोई दलित भी अपने जन्मगाँव नहीं जाना चाहता. वहाँ उसे अपमान, उपहास और उपेक्षा के सिवा क्या मिल सकता है! अपने जन्मगाँव से ऐसी अरुचि या मोहभंग अकारण नहीं है. इसकी पृष्ठभूमि में एक गहरी मनोवैज्ञानिक उथल-पुथल है, जिसका हमारे विद्वानों ने कभी संधान नहीं करना चाहा.
तुलसीदास पर एक उल्लेखनीय कार्य अंग्रेजी में माता प्रसाद गुप्त द्वारा जरूर हुआ है, जिसका हिंदी अनुवाद इलाहाबाद विश्वविद्यालय के हिंदी विभाग ने प्रकाशित किया है. लोकभारती इसका वितरक है. यह किताब निश्चित ही रेखांकित करने योग्य है. लेकिन यहाँ भी दिलचस्प उदाहरणों की भरमार है. बाद में इस बात की खूब शिनाख्त हुई कि उनका जन्म राजापुर में हुआ अथवा सोरों में ,जो एटा जिले का एक गांव है. मेरी जानकारी के अनुसार उत्तरप्रदेश सरकार ने चित्रकूट के राजापुर के बजाय इटावा के सोरों को ही उनका जन्मस्थान माना है. माता प्रसाद गुप्त की किताब में ही किन्ही भद्रदत्त शर्मा के एक लेख का उल्लेख है, जिसके अनुसार तुलसी सरयूपारी नहीं,सनाढ्य ब्राह्मण थे. शर्मा जी ने सोरों के योगमार्ग मोहल्ले में कवि का मकान भी ढूँढ लिया. उनके अनुसार तुलसी के गुरु का नाम भी नरहर्यानंद नहीं, नरसिंह चौधरी है. तुलसीदास के एक भाई नंददास भी मिल गए. उनकी ससुराल बदरिया गाँव बतलाया गया. इन सब उद्धरणों से एक ही बात स्पष्ट होती है कि तुलसी का जीवन उथल -पुथल से भरा है और वहाँ कुछ भी स्थिर नहीं है. कभी वह चित्रकूट के राजापुर के हो जाते हैं, तो कभी एटा के सोरों के हो जाते हैं, किन्ही लोगों के लिए वह सरयूपारी -कुल -वल्लभ हैं; तो किन्ही के लिए सनाढ्य कुल के.
मेरी मान्यता है,और इसके आधार हैं कि कुछ मायनों में तुलसी की जीवन -कथा कबीर से अधिक करुण और जटिल है. बनारस के जिन ‘विद्वानों’ ने कबीर को ‘ब्राह्मणी -जाया’ बतलाया उन्होंने ही तुलसी के लिए भी कथा गढ़ी . तुलसी को ब्राह्मण बनाना अधिक आसान था, इसलिए कि उन्होंने अपने काव्य रामचरित मानस में वर्णधर्म की प्रतिष्ठा की है. हालांकि वर्णधर्म का समर्थक होना ब्राह्मण होने की पहचान नहीं हो सकती. हमारे ज़माने में गांधी ( मोहनदास ) ब्राह्मण नहीं थे,लेकिन उन्होंने वर्णधर्म का समर्थन किया था . इसके मुकाबले रवीन्द्रनाथ टैगोर ब्राह्मण थे ,किन्तु वर्णधर्म विरोधी थे . (वर्णधर्म पर गाँधी और टैगोर की वैचारिक टक्कर अलग से एक दिलचस्प प्रसंग है .) तुलसीदास के सभी काव्य -ग्रंथ में नहीं,केवल रामचरित मानस में यह वर्णधर्म समर्थन मुखर रूप में है. और जिस जोरदार ढंग से वहाँ वर्ण-धर्म की प्रतिष्ठा की गयी है, उस से उसके प्रक्षिप्त होने (बाद में जोड़े जाने ) की संभावना अधिक है. लेकिन इस पर इस लेख में विमर्श करना विषयांतर होना होगा.
इस कथा में कोई दम नहीं है कि तुलसी आत्माराम दुबे की संतान थे. यह पूरी कथा मन-गढ़न्त और बे -सिर पैर की प्रतीत होती है. आत्माराम दुबे और तुलसी के पास कौन -सा कारण था कि उसे अपने नवजात स्वस्थ शिशु को त्याग देने की स्थिति आ गयी? केवल अभुक्तमूल नक्षत्र में जन्म लेने के कारण कोई अपने ऐसे बेटे को फेंक या त्याग देगा भला, जिसने जन्मते ही राम का नाम लिया हो और जिसके बत्तीसों दाँत हों? और उस आत्माराम के क्या और कोई रिश्तेदार नहीं थे कि उसने एक निम्न जाति दासी को अपने बेटे को सौंपा? मुझे कोई आपत्ति नहीं है कि उनका लालन-पालन एक तथाकथित निम्न कुल या जाति वाले परिवार में हुआ; लेकिन उस ज़माने के हिसाब से यह कुछ अटपटा लगता है. क्या निम्न कुल में पले -पुसे बालक को किसी उच्चकुलीन गुरु (नरसिंह चौधरी या नरहर्यानंद ) का मिल जाना इतना सहज था? कथा पर सवाल यह भी हो सकता है कि क्या उस पूरे अभुक्तमूल में केवल इस बच्चे का ही जन्म हुआ था, जो इसे त्यागने की मजबूरी आत्माराम को हुई. क्या आत्माराम कोई सेठ या सामंत था जिसकी शु -लाभ वाली गद्दी सँभालने के लिए शुभ नक्षत्र में जन्म हुआ बालक चाहिए था उसे? भीख मांगने केलिए क्या शुभ -अशुभ नक्षत्र!
तुलसी यदि दुबे परिवार की संतान होते तो अपने नाम के साथ निश्चय ही इसे जोड़ते. रामबोला दुबे या तुलसी दुबे होते. क्योंकि मानस के अनुसार उनकी मानसिकता वर्णवादी है. उनकी पत्नी जब उन्हें ताने दे रही थी, तब अवश्य ही अपने इस कुलनाम और उसके धौंस का उपयोग करते. लेकिन पत्नी के पहले ही आघात पर वह बिखर गए. तुलसी तो उस पर अपनी जान न्योछावर कर रहे थे,लेकिन रत्ना को अपने पति की जाति और बुलंद आर्थिक स्थिति चाहिए थी. रत्ना के मन में एक कुलीन और धनवान -सामर्थ्यवान है. रावण राजा भी है और ब्राह्मण भी. तुलसी तो ठहरा भिखमंगा गुसाईं. उसने चुपचाप अपनी राह अलग कर ली. मानस बहुत अंशों में राम कथा से अधिक तुलसी की आत्मकथा है.
तुलसी अपनी संज्ञा में बस तुलसी रहे हैं. ज़माने ने उनमे जोड़ा है तो इसके आगे गोस्वामी और पीछे दास. गोस्वामी तुलसीदास. तुलसीदास को उनके ज़माने ने गुसाई कहा है. लोगों ने इस गुसाईं की पड़ताल करने की कभी कोई कोशिश नहीं की. यह हमारी विद्वत मंडली का बौद्धिक दारिद्र्य ही कहा जायेगा कि इस पर भी विचार नहीं किया कि बेनीमाधवदास और भवानीदास की तुलसीगाथा का नाम ‘मूल गोसाईं चरित ‘ और ‘ गोसाई चरित ‘ ही क्यों है?
गोस्वामी और गुसाईं पर मेरा ध्यान पहली दफा तब गया था, जब 1990 में आरक्षण को लेकर हमारे राष्ट्रीय जीवन में एक हिंसक कोहराम खड़ा हुआ. जिन लोगों को उस ज़माने का स्मरण होगा वे ख्याल कर सकते हैं कि पहले ही दौर में एक अत्यंत पीड़ादायक लोमहर्षक घटना घटी जब राजीव गोस्वामी नाम के एक नौजवान ने इसके विरोध में आत्मदाह कर लिया. उसकी दर्दनाक मौत हुई. बाद में मुझे पता चला कि राजीव गोस्वामी को खुद पता नहीं था कि वह अन्य पिछड़े वर्ग का सदस्य है और यह मंडल-प्रसंग उसके जीवन में भी थोड़ा बदलाव ला सकता है. यह घटना मेरे मन अथवा अवचेतन में बैठी रही. कुछ साल बाद मुझे गोस्वामी समाज के कुछ लोग मिले और उनसे यह जानकारी मिली कि तुलसी दास ब्राह्मण नहीं, गोस्वामी थे. मेरे लिए यह नई सूचना थी. उसके कई वर्ष पूर्व मैंने तुलसी के जीवन को लेकर एक कहानी लिखी थी,जो आत्मालाप शैली में थी,और जिस में तुलसी अपने विकट जीवन को याद कर रहे हैं. मेरे गुसाई (तुलसी ) को काशी के ब्राह्मणों से काफी संघर्ष करना पड़ा था. उस समय भी मेरी समझ थी कि जीवनानुभवों ने उन्हें पूरी तरह बदल दिया था,और उन्हें इस बात का अफ़सोस था कि अपने मानस में उन्होंने वर्ण धर्म का समर्थन क्यों किया. लेकिन यह कहानी थी. उस समय मेरे मन में यह नहीं था कि गुसाईं एक अलग जाति है, जो ब्राह्मणों से भिन्न ह .
मैंने दसनामी गुसाइयों के इतिहास पर एक किताब पढ़ी. यह कोई खास किताब नहीं थी. हर जाति -बिरादरी के लोग ऐसी किताबें लिखते -छपवाते रहे हैं, जिसमें उनका अपना महिमा -मंडन होता है. लेकिन उनसे यह तो पता चला कि गोस्वामी एक ऐसी बिरादरी है जो पंजाब और हिमाचल प्रदेश को छोड़ कर पूरे भारत में अन्य पिछड़े वर्ग में शुमार किये गए हैं. मैंने उत्तरप्रदेश की केंद्रीय और प्रांतीय सरकार वाली अन्य पिछड़े वर्ग वाली अनुसूची देखी. बारहवें नंबर पर गोस्वामी या गुसाईं थे. तुलसीदास इसी समाज से आते थ ,जैसे जुलाहों के समाज से कबीर.
हर जाति की कुछ खासियत और कमियां होती हैं. मेरा लक्ष्य फिलहाल इसका संधान करना नहीं है. मैंने दशनामियों की सामाजिक-आर्थिक स्थितियों का एक सामान्य अध्ययन किया. यह मिहनतक़श जाति समाज नहीं है, अर्थात आय या जीवन -यापन के लिए किसी ऐसे पेशे से नहीं जुडी है, जिस में शारीरिक श्रम लगता हो. गुसाईं मुसलमानों में भी होते हैं और वहाँ भी इनका काम यही है, जो हिन्दुओं के बीच है. जब कोई व्यक्ति अपने श्रम के बूते खाने की स्थिति में नहीं रहता,यानी जब वह परजीवी हो जाता है,दूसरों के श्रम पर खाने की स्थिति में हो जाता है, तब वह समाज के बीच स्वतंत्र रूप से विचार रखने की स्थिति में भी नहीं रह जाता. यही स्थिति तुलसी के साथ हुई. कबीर और रैदास जैसे कवियों की स्थिति भिन्न थी. वे मिहनतक़श थे. चादर बुन कर या जूते गाँठ कर कमाते थे और अपनी रोटी जुटाते थे. तुलसी मांग कर खाने वाले थे. कबीर -रैदास की तरह चाह कर भी मस्त -मौला नहीं हो सकते थे. उस तरह से आज़ाद ख्याल नहीं हो सकते थे. लेकिन तुलसी में एक जबरदस्त कसमसाहट है. मुझे यह भी प्रतीत होता है कि निर्गुण-निराकार राम की जगह एक सामंतवादी राम के गुणगान की अपनी सीमाओं को तोड़ने के लिए अपने आखिरी समय में वह बेचैन थे. ‘कवितावली’ मानस के मुकाबले एक छोटी रचना है. लेकिन तुलसी का वहाँ एक भिन्न रूप है. तुलसी का आत्मसंघर्ष कबीर से कहीं जटिल है. काश, इस पर विमर्श करने का सामर्थ्य हमारे पास होता. बावजूद कोशिश तो करूँगा. लेकिन, अभी बस इतना ही.
