मैं नींद में कभी नहीं था
सुकून का हिस्सा नहीं होती हैं रातें
स्मृतियां विप्लव करती हैं
कोई पहर नहीं होता
जिसमें सिर्फ सन्नाटे ही गूंज रहे हों
दूर उठती आवाज़ें घूमती रहती हैं कानों में
जिन आवाज़ों से संबद्ध रहा हो अस्तित्व।
साल गुजरकर जगह देते रहते
एक और बुरे साल को
शिकस्त का अहसास जेहन से निकल नहीं पाता
बुलंदियां रेत हैं, सेहरा की सर्द मुस्कान
होंठों पर कभी आई तो लम्हों की एक घटना भर है
दूसरे क्षण विदा होना है उसे।
कभी कभी दीवार और छत के
मिलन पर टिक जाती हैं आँखें
कई सूराख एक साथ दिखते हैं संधि-स्थल पर
समय गुजरता रहता है
दिन और रात का अनुक्रम बाधित नहीं करता उसकी गति
करवट बदल लो कोई भी, नींद पहरों नहीं आती
सुबह अखबार, दवा, नाश्ता, आफिस
प्रेम अचानक जगह बना लेता है व्यस्ततम लम्हों में भी
प्रेम भरता है आपके खालीपन को सवालों से
प्रेम जीवित है, क्यों यह अहसास सदियों से मरा नहीं।
सवाल छोड़ेंगे नहीं कभी आपको
आप पहलू में थे तो ऐसा हुआ कैसे
दुआएं निकलकर गुम कहाँ होती हैं
करवटों के इतने अधिक बदलाव क्यूं कर
क्या तारीख सलवटों का ही नाम है
कोई रोज अनायास ही डराता क्यों है
कई बार लोग निकल तो जाते हैं बुरे दौर से
मैं सुबह देर तक सोया क्यूँ नहीं रह सकता
धूप की कोई छोर क्यूँ दिखती नहीं किसी भी सूराख से
उस पार भी अंधेरा ही है क्या
खुशी की अदनी छाया क्यूँ कभी गुदगुदाती नहीं
मेरा लश्कर बियाबान में ही क्यूँ रह गया
मुझे इतमीनान क्यूँ है कि मैं नींद में कभी रहा ही नहीं।
दरारें
मेरी दरारों में यादें थीं
कुछ गम और फकत कुछ चेहरे
रोशनी का अहसास
गुजरे हुए कुछ कैद दिन
मेरी अशक्त बाहें जो खुशियां संभाल नहीं सकीं
और घुन लगे हुए दंभ
मेरी आवाज़ें जो तुम तक नहीं पहुंची
जैसा भी बेईमान सा हो पर एक नाज़ुक दिल
तुम उन दरारों में गए हो जबसे
तुमने फिर कुछ कहा नहीं
क्या तुम पढ़ने लगे सब कुछ
दर असल दो अलग वास्तविकताएं हैं
एक जो पसरी हैं जीवन में हर जगह
और दूसरी जो सिकुड़ी हैं संकीर्ण एकांतों में
दावा व्यर्थ है जो सामने है उसे समझ लेने का
और उसे भी जो नितांत वैयक्तिक है
कुछ खोह और उन्हें ढूंढते रास्ते
बहुत गहराई तक जाते हैं
उनमें उतरना नहीं
मेरा ही कुछ हिस्सा
मेरा ही दूसरे संदर्भों में रचा हुआ एक अक्स
बचा रह गया है उन गहरे पड़े मलबों में
मैं आज अधूरा उन्हीं वजहों से हूं ।
सामान्य लोग जो नायक रहे
किंवदंतियां मानस में तराशी जाती है
खौफनाक किस्से नायकों को बड़ा करते हैं
चोट अगर पुरानी बताई गई है
तो ज़ख्म सदियों गहरे रहने हैं
चोटें इतिहास की कंदराएँ हैं
खोह में छिपे होते हैं रहस्य
वाचक कालजई नायक खड़ा करता है
जिन्होंने लोक – मर्यादा के लिए अस्त्र उठाए
बर्बर समूहों के खिलाफ
बर्बरता ही एकमात्र उपाय है
नैतिकता और दुहाई छद्म थी उस वक्त भी
जब चलना नहीं आया था
स्याह दरवेशों और फकीरों ने
किसी इकतारे पर कोई गाथा गीत नहीं गाया
मुक्ति का संगीत भी प्रतीक्षा करता रहा है
अपने उन्मेष के लिए
करुण साजों पर जीवन होम करते हुए
गायकों और नायकों की
ऊपर जाती हुई लौ मशालों की
अंधेरे के खिलाफ जंग नहीं थी
शताब्दियों से आम जन जले हैं, रोशनी के लिए
जिन्होंने जलना चुना था कभी
वो समझते थे घुटकर मर जाने
और खत्म करार कर दिए जाने का निषेध
भट्ठियों में उन्होंने शामिल किया
राजसत्ता के अस्थि पंजर
तब जाकर कहीं निकली थी
दम तोडते वर्चस्व की सड़ांध
उसकी तिलिस्मी प्रज्वलन में
उसके खत्म होते जाने की दास्ताँ
आसान नहीं राह बनाना
पीढ़ियों के लिए
हौसले होते हैं पहाड़ों
और जंगलों के खिलाफ
पीसे जाते हैं जब पत्थरों पर जब राह के कांटे
फिर गिरती हैं मंजिलें ठोकरों में
दस्यु समूह पैदा करते हैं
भावुक और बजबजाते मिथक
सत्ता मिथकों का पोषण करती है
प्रतीक और पांडित्य लिए
खड़ा होता है अराजक चिंतक समुदाय
हाशिए पर धकेल दी जाती है
एक अशक्त आम भीड़
जब चीख शामिल नहीं हो सकी थी प्रतिकार में
जब व्यक्ति नहीं आया था सत्ता और
बर्बर सेनाओं के खिलाफ
तब जिसने समूह बनाए
घोड़े और तलवारें जुटाई
उस अदम्य साहस का दस्तावेज पढ़ो कभी
दमन की वजह प्रजा है
और कुछ क़ातिलों के चेहरे
अंधी पट्टी में तराजू पर अपने को तौलती
एक खतरनाक न्याय- व्यवस्था
प्रजा के भोलेपन का शिकार करती है
सलीब पर बहुत ऊंचे टंगे हुए मसीह
देखते रहते हैं रोज़ बनते हुए नए सलीब
और टांगा जाता एक कृशकाय सचेतन मस्तिष्क
सलीब बनानेवाले जल्लादों की चमगादड़ों जैसी दुर्गन्ध
वे सामान्य जन
भरे हुए थे जीवन से
उनके पुरखों की चीख गुम हो गई
कभी जो जिंदगी से लदे थे
साँसें आवाज़ देती थीं औरों को भी चलने की
वे हारे नहीं थे
दर्ज हैं इतिहासों में
शहीद की तरह
एक व्यवस्था ने किया था उन्हें हाशिए से बाहर
जिस्मानी तौर पर भले ही खत्म हो गई वे सदियां
वे चश्मदीद गवाह थे जगे हुए इतिहास के
सभ्यता पर होती रहती दुर्दांत कोशिशों के
अनेक बिजलियों के गिरने की कहानियों के
तुम जब चाहो पुनरावलोकन कर सकते हो
इतिहास के कुछ पहलू अजीब हैं
कहानियां कमजोर नहीं होती हैं उनकी।
