विद्वान का वक्ता का स्वागत करते हुए कॉलेज के प्राचार्य प्रोफ़ेसर मसरूर अहमद बेग ने यह उल्लेखनीय बात की कि मैनेजमेंट के प्राध्यापन से जुड़े होने के बावजूद अरूण मित्तल भाषा की सेवा करने का काम कर रहे हैं।
प्रमुख वक़्ता अरूण मित्तल जी ने अपनी बातचीत की शुरुआत में इस बात को उठाया कि तकनीक ने भाषा के प्रयोग को किस हद तक प्रभावित किया है। इसमें साध्य प्रमुख है और साधन गौण। लेकिन उन्होंने इसके सकारात्मक पहलुओं के ऊपर भी चर्चा की। तकनीक ने भाषा के, विस्तार का काम किया है। इसके माध्यमों ने साहित्य का विस्तार किया है।
उन्होंने कुमार विश्वास के हवाले से कहा कि अगर यूट्यूब न होता तो उनकी रचनाएँ जनमानस तक पहुँची। लेकिन उन्होंने इस बात की ओर भी ध्यान दिलाया कि लिखने के नाम पर कुछ भी लिखा जा रहा है। कमेंट, शेयर और लाइक के लिए लिखा जा रहा है। साधना नहीं साध्य प्रमुख होता जा रहा है। उन्होंने कहा कि सोशल साइट्स पर जो कविताएँ हैं उनमें से 80% कविताएँ कविताएँ नहीं हैं। वे कमेंटरी हैं कविताएँ नहीं। तकनीक ने हिंदी भाषा को बाज़ारवाद का एक नया रूप दे दिया।
अब छपना आसान हो गया है। पाठकों को कुछ नहीं पता होता। यह लिखने वाले का दायित्व होता है कि क्या परोसना है। यह भाषा की समृद्धि के लिए बहुत ज़रूरी है। लिखने के पीछे परिश्रम नहीं दिखाई देता।
तीसरे दौर के रूप में उन्होंने ओ॰टी॰टी॰ की बात की। जिसके कारण भाषा में अश्लीलता बढ़ गई है, आक्रामकता, फूहड़ता का जोर है। यह बाज़ारवाद का प्रतीक है। ख़राब भाषा के लिए पाठक नहीं लेखक उत्तरदायी होता है।
