कमाल की कविता है स्मृति
जिसकी परिधि में
गुलाब के बचे ओस कण
और पराग भी हैं
जिसने बचाए रखा
तन में मन
और आत्मा में स्पंदन
जिसने ताप को संताप
और प्रेम को अधिकार होने से बचा लिया

ढहती रात उदास स्मृतियाँ हैं
जो इस उलझन में है
कि उदास रात्रि है या यात्री
सड़क है या सफ़र
एक फ़व्वारा है स्मृतियों का
जिसमें साल में एक बार पानी आता है
और वह पूरे साल भीगे बदन इंतज़ार में
फाड़ती रहती हैं चिंदियाँ
वह इस विडम्बना में मुस्करा देती है
कि समय ज़्यादा फलाँगता है
या स्मृतियाँ
नींद की चीख नाभि में बंद है
कराहते हुए चेताती है
कि मंज़िल के बाद का सफ़र
ज़्यादा अकेले का है
आज अकेले में
वह खुद से पूछती है
कम्युनिस्ट से क्राइस्ट का सफ़र बेहतर है
या ठीक उससे उल्टा

आँख में चाँद का उतरना
कोख में कुछ सरकने जैसा है
चाँदना जब आया
तो चाँद गुम हो गया
तब से वह चाँदनी को
कोख में ढूँढ रही है
कमबख़्त हर रोज़ चाँद के चारों ओर
सफ़ेद बदली
घेरा लगाए दिखता है
नीचे नहीं उतरता
नजर आता है कभी-कभी लहरों की जुंबिश पर
और तब पत्थर की एक अठखेली
उसका सारा वजूद डगमगा देती है
दिल पत्थर का भी होता होगा !
चाँदनी की झीनी चादर ओढ़े
सच पूर्णिमा-सा सामने आता है
और फिर थोड़ी-सी चाँदनी पीते ही
चाँद और चाँदनी दोनों संग गुम हो जाते हैं

जब रोएँ गाते हैं
चेतना आत्मा से बातें करती है
अमृत झरने लगता है बातों में
अमूर्त राग बन जाता है संस्पर्श
उस पल ठहरा क्षण
चाहता है अनंत होना
और चित्र की इच्छा होती है
चलचित्र हो जाना
उस समय प्रेम में इंतज़ार
मीठा शहद बन जाता है
और टप-टप चखे जाना
क्षणों में बनना
या क्षण-क्षण बहे जाना हो जाता है
यह सब मूक देखते हुए
बंद आँखें ज़्यादा बड़ी हो जाती हैं

पर्स वाले शीशे में
चाँद क़ैद होता है चाँदनी नहीं
मन तड़पता है रात नहीं
छातियाँ धड़कती हैं दिल नहीं
दर्द पक जाता है
पर प्रेम की रोटी
एक ही तरफ़ पकी मिलती है
दिन में फुग्गों के साथ खेलना
रात में फुग्गा मारकर रोना
प्रेम को समझने का पहला संकेत है
वजूद टुकड़ों में बचा रहता है
टुकड़ों को बचाना ख़ुद को साबुत रखना है
पर टुकड़ों का पलों में जुड़ना
ख़ुद का गुम हो जाना है

प्यार में अक्सर ऐसा होता है
किसी के बेरोक रोते ही
दूजे का रोना थम जाता है
प्यार में सबसे ख़तरनाक तब होता है
जब कोई रोते हुए मुस्करा दे
तब बात भूलने से बड़ी समस्या
बात नहीं भूलना बन जाती है
ज़ुल्फ़ खुले और यूँ बिखरे
जैसे ज्वालामुखी ढह गया
फूल के रंग सूख कर
सदा शुष्क और पुख्ता हो गए
बहुत लम्बा जूड़ा बांधती रही
न जाने क्या हुआ
पीठ पर इतरा छितरा दिया
ऐसा मैंने अक्सर खुशियों के साथ होते देखा है

वह बनना चाहता है
मैं होना चाहती हूँ
उसको जब भी देखती
धरती भारमुक्त दिखती
उन एक जोड़ी आँखों में
जुड़ने की चाहत छलकती दिखी
और तब मैंने एक आँख से
आशंकित और आशावान दोनों आँखें देखी
सम्मोहन प्रेम में है या खतरे में
यह जान लेना
प्रेम की दूसरी सीढ़ी चढ़ना है
मुझे लगा
दूरी आदम को नश्वर बनाती है
पर जब भी जुड़ती हूँ
तो ईश्वर को और नज़दीक पाती हूँ

मेल वालों से ज़्यादा मेल
बे-मेलों का हो रहा है
साथ होने में कल्पना नहीं होती
साथ न होने में होती है
इश्क़ में कल्पना एक छौंक है
पर मुझे सादी दाल पसंद है
प्रेम और दुःख का रिश्ता
नशा और हैंगओवर जैसा है
नशा का पता चलता है
हैंगोवर का नहीं
ढलते वक्त में भी
तस्वीर का मतलब
स्मृतियों की पुनरावृति ही होती है
बिंदी पुंछ जाती है
हरापन ज़िंदा रहता है

समय बहते-बहते
अचानक शून्य पर रुक गया
तब वह हक्का-बक्का ऐसे ताकता रहा
जैसे चसकारा लिए नवजात ताकता है
मैंने उसके लौटने का इंतज़ार
गिलोटिन के गिरने सा किया
मुक्ति आसमान तक ले जाता झूला-सा मिला
और उस एक पल में क्षण
पसरने की इच्छा से तड़पता दिखा
उस पल में कल
आज को छाती से भींचते हुए
तेज़ी से लपकता आया
उस पल मुझे उसे
बेइंतहा प्यार करना चाहिए
और मैं हूँ
कि समय के फांस में निस्तेज पड़ी हूँ

उसने कहा क्या ढूंढ़ते हो
जवाब मिला पूरक
जैसे टहनियाँ ढूँढ़ती हैं फूल
और फूल ढूँढ़ता है पराग
तुम हँसती हो
तो लगता है
प्रपात उद्गम से फूट पड़ा है
और उस झरने का अमृत मेरी चाहना है
जब चूमता हूँ
तो लगता है
होंठ पराग बीन रहे हैं
तृष्णा नदी सी प्यासी है
और तृप्ति झील सी शांत
प्रेम दोनों के बीच का पुल
जबकि पुल का दिल भी नदी के लिए धड़कता है

सुबह बाहर, शाम भीतर
फूटती है रौशनी
पर जब तुम आती हो
सुबह और शाम का मतलब खत्म हो जाता है
समय के साथ रोशनी के मायने बदल जाते हैं
चाँद अब मेरी छाती पर टिका हुआ है
और मेरा अंतस
रौशनी से भरा हुआ
सुख जब अवर्णनीय हो
तब तृप्ति चमक उठती है
संतोष ललाट पर दमकता है
उस समय
किसी का साथ
ईश्वर का साथ बन जाता है

बिछोह एक पल में
गुड ईवनिंग को गुड नाइट में बदल देता है
रोने से ज़्यादा
जब मुस्कुराहट भयानक लगे
तो सलाह है
रो लेना चाहिए
उम्र की चाल 180 डिग्री की होती है
मन 360 डिग्री पर चलता है
न कहना कायरता
और कहना व्यथा मढ़ना
विडम्बना इनके बीच
रात में तेजी से टहलती है
प्यार करना और प्यार पाना
अलग-अलग मसले हैं
प्यार करना खेल
और प्यार होना बेवकूफी
दरअसल पूर्णता प्रेम का सपना है
और सपने कभी हाथ नहीं आते

कभी-कभी आँसू होता है
पर नमी नदारद
ख़ुशी होती है

तलब के साथ दोनों ग़ायब हो जाते हैं

बिखरी चीजों का अपना सौंदर्य है
बारिश मुझे इसलिए पसंद है
क्योंकि इसकी लड़ियाँ
तुम्हारे बिखरी बालों सी लगती हैं
पहले तुम मुझे बहुत सुंदर लगी
धीरे-धीरे भूलता गया सुंदर लगना
फिर भूल बैठा सुंदरता की परिभाषा
अब बस तुम याद रह गयी हो पूरी की पूरी
दरअसल गर मिकदार होता प्रेम
तो नहीं मापता रह जाता
ताउम्र धरती

भटकन की धुरी पर
घूमती पृथ्वी का
सूरज बनना आसान नहीं
उस ताप से गुजरना आसान नहीं
जिसे बुझाने
पृथ्वी समंदर लिए घूमती है
और चाँद उन दोनों को देख मुस्कुराता है
जबकि तीनों को पता है
कि तीनों के भटकन की
अपनी-अपनी धुरी है
और अपना वृत्त पथ
ढूँढ़ते हुए भटकन की परछाई रोशनी फेंकती है
और ढूँढ़ अपनी यात्रा कायम रखता है
उसने एक बात सच कहा
जब भी भटकोगी
तुम्हारी हँसी तुम्हें बचा लेगी

इंतज़ार एक सुरंग है
जहां घबराहट का भभका मिलता है
उस सुरंग में प्यार ने घबरा कर सच कह डाला
रौशनी से डर लगता है
इसमें साए मिट जाते हैं
और मुझे अंधेरे से प्यार होने लगा
अंधेरे में दिखा
असीम शून्य मुँह बाए खड़े हैं
दुःख का
हद से गुज़र जाने का इंतज़ार लिए
प्रेम समझाता है
इंतज़ार में कोकून रेशम बनाता है
और कवि कविता
और यह भी
कि इंतज़ार में
आदम ज्यादा पकता है या कविताएँ

इंतज़ार में खत
बरसाती झरनों से कम नहीं लगता
प्रेम में भूरी आँखें
हरी और फिर अंगूरी हो जाती हैं
काली जुल्फें सुनहली
फिर प्याजी हो जाती हैं
मैंने चराग़ की लौ को
नीला होते हुए देखा
तो लगा
इंतज़ार भी रंग यूँ ही बदलता होगा
दिल ने चुपके से कहा
इंतज़ार में मन
तू जिप्सी बन जा
देखा तो इंतज़ार में
कुछ पेड़ खुद उग आए
और कुछ को मैंने उगाया
इस इंतज़ार में
कि तुम जब भी लौटो
तुम्हें दुनिया की सबसे ठंडी छाँव मिले
और यूँ
अब तक कविता में मैंने पूर्ण विराम नहीं लगाया…
यह अद्भुत कविताएं हैं। उपन्यास को इससे सुंदर तरीके से कोई क्या ही उकेरेगा! साधुवाद आपको यतीश जी।

क्या ही शानदार बिम्बों का प्रयोग किया है ! कहानी को कविता में उतारने का नायाब हुनर है यतीश कुमार जी में । कविता ऐसी जो कहानी के साथ पूरा न्याय करते हुए अपनी ख़ूबियों को पाठकों पर उंडेलती जाती है ।
पाठक मंत्रमुग्ध सा पूरा पी जाता है और संतोष पाता है इस घोषणा के साथ कि ” अब तक कविता में मैंने पूर्ण विराम नहीं लगाया…” ..कि आगे अभी और है …और इंतज़ार..!!
