जानकी पुल पर कभी मेरी किसी किताब पर कभी कुछ नहीं शाया हुआ. लेकिन यह अपवाद है. प्रवासी युवा लेखिका पूनम दुबे ने मेरी बरसों पुरानी किताब ‘मार्केज़: जादुई यथार्थ का जादूगर’ पर इतना अच्छा लिखा है साझा करने का लोभ संवरण नहीं कर सका- प्रभात रंजन

कुछ महीने पहले जब मैंने “एकाकीपन के सौ साल” पढ़ी तभी से गाब्रिएल गार्सिया मार्केज का जुनून सर पर कुछ दिनों तक ऐसा छाया रहा कि बस मैं उन्हीं के बारे में सोचती रही. आखिर कैसे लिखी होगी मार्केज ने यह किताब, कैसा रहा होगा उनका सफ़र. क्या इंस्पिरेशन रहे होंगे इस तरह की लैंडमार्क बुक को लिखने में जिसने वर्ल्ड लिटरेचर को इस कदर प्रभावित किया. सवालों की लहरें बार-बार दिमाग़ की नसों को कुरेद जाती. कई बार गूगल बाबा की मदद भी ली उनके बारे में जानने की. उनकी प्रसिद्धि की झलक तो मैंने बोगोता में पा ही ली थी, किताब पढ़ने के बाद उनके व्यक्तित्व को लेकर मेरी उत्सुकता और भी बढ़ गई. फिर हाथ लगी हिंदी साहित्य के माने जाने शख़्सियत प्रभात रंजन की लिखी किताब “जादुई यथार्थ का जादूगर.” इसी से शुरू हुआ मार्केज को जानने का मेरा अपना सफ़र. मेरा मानना है कि महान कहानीकार और आर्टिस्ट लोगों का केवल काम ही नहीं उनका जीवन भी हमारी को सोच को परिपक्व बनाता है, और एक नई दिशा देता है.
जैसे हर घर कुछ कहता है, वैसे ही हर किताब कुछ सिखाती है. इस किताब को पढ़कर जो कुछ मैं सीख पाई वह आपके सामने है.
बचपन में हिंदी के कोर्स में बछेंद्री पाल पर एक पाठ पढ़ा था जिसमें यह मुहावरा था, “होनहार बिरवान के होत चिकने पात” यानी कि श्रेष्ठ व्यक्ति के गुण बचपन से ही दिखाई देने लगते है. गाब्रिएल में महान कहानीकार के लक्षण बचपन से दिखने लगे थे लेकिन क्या इतना काफी था. नहीं, असल जिंदगी में गुण के अलावा कड़ी मेहनत, जुनून, दृढ़ता और बहुत ज्यादा धैर्य की जरूरत होती है. गाब्रिएल ने तपस्वियों सा तप किया लिटरेचर जगत में इस मुकाम तक पहुंचने के लिए, इसका आभास मुझे इस किताब को पढ़कर हुआ.
गाब्रिएल के पिता चाहते थे कि ग्रेजुएशन के बाद वह वकालत करें, पैसे कमाए और अच्छी जिंदगी बसर करें. उस समय कोलंबिया में वकालत करने की हवा चली थी उसपर गाब्रिएल अच्छे नंबरों से पास भी हुए. इसके बावजूद उन्होंने अपना मन केवल साहित्य में ही लगाया. शायद वह अपनी कॉलिंग को समझ गए थे. मुश्किल परिस्थितियों, और आर्थिक तंगी के बावजूद भी वह साहित्य से जुड़े रहे. बहुत ज्यादा साहस और अंदर आग की जरूरत होती है अपनी कालिंग का पीछा करने के लिए.
अपनी अनोखी लिखाई के चलते वह लोगों की नजर में आ तो गए थे, लेकिन उतना काफ़ी नहीं था. उनतालीस की उम्र में जब उन्होंने हंड्रेड इयर्स ऑफ़ सॉलिट्यूड लिखी तब जाकर उन्हें वह मुकाम हासिल हुआ जिसने यह साबित कर दिया की वह शब्दों जादूगर हैं. क्योंकि गली बॉय के कहे अनुसार, सब का टाइम आता है! इस किताब को लिखने में करीब अठारह महीने लगे मार्केज को उस दौरान आर्थिक रूप से उन्होंने भीषण परिस्थितियों का सामना करना पड़ा. प्रभात जी ने मार्केज के उन अठारह महीनों और उसके बाद के क्रिएटिव प्रोसेस का व्याख्यान बड़ी खूबसूरती से किया है. जो मेरे लिए प्रेरणा का स्रोत बना.
जब भी किसी क्रिएटिव व्यक्ति या आर्टिस्ट की बात होती है तो इस बात की चर्चा जरूर होती है कि आखिर उनके जीवन पर किसका इन्फ़्लुएंस था. लोगों में उत्सुकता होती है कि आखिर इन लोगों के दिमाग में क्या चलता है जो वह दुनिया को अलग ही तरीके से देखते है. विन्सेंट वैन गो का उदाहरण ले लीजिये वह प्रकृति से प्रेरणा लेते थे और अपने आर्ट के जरिये नेचर को प्रेजेंट करने का उनका तरीका भी बहुत निराला था. गाब्रिएल फ्रेंज काफ़्का, अर्नेस्ट हेमिंग्वे, विलियम फॉकनर, जेम्स जोएस, नथैनियल हॉथॉर्न, हेर्मेन मेलविले आदि की किताबें पढ़ा करते थे. दरअसल वह खूब किताबें पढ़ा करते थे. इससे यह बात बड़ी साफ़ है कि एक अच्छा लेखक बनने के लिए एक अच्छा रीडर होना बहुत ही आवश्यक है. ठीक वैसे ही जैसे अच्छी सेहत के लिए अच्छा भोजन की जरूरत होती है.
उनका बचपन काफ़ी दिलचस्प था. उनकी लिखी सभी कहानियां कहीं न कहीं वास्तविकता से जुड़ी है. बचपन में नाना, नानी के घर बिताये साल उनके जिंदगी का बहुत दिलचस्प समय था. इन्हीं बिताये दिनों की यादें उनके लेखनी का मुख्य हिस्सा बनी. वही आम सी लगने वाली वाकयात दरअसल उन्हें ख़ास लगी, उनमें उन्होंने कहानियां ढूंढ ली. इस किताब में प्रभात जी ने गाब्रिएल की लिखी किताबों, कहानियों और उनके वास्तविकता से जुड़े प्रसंगों के विस्तार में उदाहरण दिए है, जिन्हें पढ़कर यह मालूम होता है कि लेखक की अपनी एक अलग दुनिया होती है.
किताब को पढ़ते हुए मुझे अंग्रेजी की कहावत “गेटिंग अंडर द स्किन” कई दफ़ा जेहन में आती रही. प्रभात जी गाब्रिएल गार्सिया मार्केज से बहुत ज्यादा प्रभावित रहे हैं, यह बात उनकी लिखाई में साफ झलकती है. हैरानी इस बात की भी होती रही कि आखिर न जाने कितने ज्यादा रिसर्च, और अध्ययन की जरूरत पड़ी होगी किताब को लिखने में. एक इंटरनेशनल लेखक के बारे में लिखना बहुत ज्यादा स्टडी और डेडिकेशन की डिंमांड रखता है. सही मायने में यह केवल किताब नहीं प्रियतम को प्रेमी की तरफ से की गई भेंट के समान है.
आखिर में यह बात भी कहना जरूरी समझती हूँ कि, यह किताब केवल गाब्रिएल के दीवानों के लिए नहीं है, यह किताब उन सभी लोगों के लिए है जो जीवन में साहित्य और किताबों में रुचि रखते है. आज दुनिया गाब्रिएल को एक कामयाब रचनाकार के रूप में जानती है. लेकिन इस कामयाबी से पहले उनके सालों का संघर्ष किसी प्रेरणा से कम नहीं है. असल सीख तो संघर्ष और सफलता की सीढ़ी तक पहुंचने के प्रोसेस में होती ही. केवल किसी की सफलता को देखकर हम सभी सफल हो जाते हो क्या बात होती. “जादुई यथार्थ का जादूगर” के जरिये मुझे गाब्रिएल के जीवन के विभिन्न पहलुओं में झांकने और समझने का एक मौका मिला. प्रभात जी की किताब से ही प्रभावित होकर मैंने गाब्रिएल की “लव इन द टाइम ऑफ़ कॉलरा” पढ़नी शुरू का दी है.
कुछ दिन पहले पता चला है कि जल्द ही प्रभात जी की मनोहर श्याम जोशी पर लिखी किताब “पालतू बोहेमियन” आ रही है जिसका मुझे बेसब्री से इंतजार है. क्योंकि जैसे मैंने कहा कि महान कहानीकार और आर्टिस्ट लोगों का केवल काम ही नहीं उनका जीवन हमारी को सोच को परिपक्व बनाता है, और एक नई दिशा देता है.
पालतू बोहेमियन के जरिये मैंने मनोहर श्याम जोशी के बारे में जानने को खूब उत्सुक हूँ.
