जैसे कविताएं शब्दों का जामा पहन अनगिन रूपों में शाया होती हैं, वैसे ही शायद विविध तरीके से पाठक कविताओं का पाठ भी करते होंगे। इन्हें पढ़ते हुए वो बेहद निजी अनुभूतियों से लेकर बड़े सामाजिक सांस्कृतिक राजनीतिक आयामों तक को महसूस कर सकते हैं। ऐसा ही कुछ आभास मुझे कवि ‘पंकज चतुर्वेदी’ का नया काव्य संग्रह ‘आकाश में अर्द्धचंद्र’ को पढ़ते हुए बारहा होता रहा। इस संग्रह की कविताओं से गुज़रते हुए मैं कभी शब्दों और भावों की तिलस्मी दुनिया में घूमा, तो कभी ख़ुद में उतर कर इन कविताओं के दर्पण में अपना ही अंतस टटोल आया। कभी लगा कि मैं अपने समय का हूबहू चलचित्र देख रहा हूं, तो कभी पाया कि मनुष्यता के आख्यान से अपने लिए ही कुछ संदर्भ ढूंढ रहा हूं।
जैसे-जैसे संग्रह की छोटी-छोटी कविताएं सामने खुलती गईं, इनसे आत्मालाप जैसा एक संवाद होने लगा। इस संवाद में अंतर्विरोध या प्रतिरोध सिरे से गायब रहा, क्योंकि ये उस भाषा में दृश्यमान थीं जिनसे मेरी ही आत्मा को वाणी मिल रही थी। हर कविता मन को मथती और फिर उसे खिला देती। खिला मन कविताओं से बात करने लगता। अब कविता से बात तो उसकी भाषा में हो पाती, सो कुछ कविताओं से बतियाते हुए वह ख़ुद ही काव्यात्मक अभिव्यक्ति का रूप धरने लगीं। ये कविताएं कवि के शब्दों का महज़ पाठकीय विस्तार हैं, जो उसे गुनते हुए उतर पड़ीं और ये पाठक उन्हें रोक न पाया।

कहते हैं मेरे प्रिय कवि
पंकज चतुर्वेदी
पर जब देखता हूं
तरह तरह की हिंसा में लिप्त
अपने देश की सरकार को
तो पता हूं कि-
दिनोंदिन वो होती जा रही है भयहीन
और उतनी ही हिंस्त्र भी
उसे पूरा विश्वास है
अपने फैलाए मायाजाल पर
वह जानती है
कि अनंत दुख सहकर भी
जनता अब उसकी है
इस हिंसा में मुझे भय नहीं
अहंकार और अभय दिखता है
तुम क्या कहते हो

छुट्टी का एहसास भी
बना देता है रात को सहज और अपना सा’
तो सोचो-
जब इतना सुखद है

यह बर्बरों का प्रिय तर्क है’

सत्ता का साथ देता है’
कवि, बात तो सही है
पर अफ़सोस!
लोगों के प्यार में ही

और ले आए पूर्ण बेशर्म सत्ता
विडंबना देखो-
मज़बूरी या अज्ञानतावश ही
कर रहे हैं लोग इससे प्यार।
